According to Jewish scholar Yael Shemesh and other false teachers He did!
“In one case we even find God twisting the truth in order to preserve amicable relations between Abraham and Sarah and to prevent Abraham’s feelings from being hurt. Upon overhearing the prediction that she was about to become pregnant, Sarah laughs, “Now that I am withered, am I to have enjoyment- with my husband so old?” (Genesis 18:12); God, however, quotes her to Abraham as having said, “Shall I in truth bear a child, old as I am?” (Genesis 18-13), making no reference to Abraham’s inadequacy. This episode was used by the Sages of the Talmud as a proof-text showing that it is permitted to lie in order to establish peace (BT Yeb. 65b; BT B.M. 87a).”

The answer is NO, God did not lie, cannot lie, and will not lie. God clearly stated that He is NOT A MAN that He should lie (Numbers 23:19) or a son of man who needs to repent. If anyone claims that God lied, DON’T LISTEN TO THAT TEACHER, PREACHER, or RABBI! Their belief shows a lack of respect for God. Trust in God, not in man. God once said, “only a fool puts his trust in man.” God didn’t have to inform Abraham of anything! It doesn’t make sense for God to say something untrue just to “keep the peace.” Yael Shemesh misquoted Sarah by leaving out the Hebrew word “balah” בָּלָה in verse 12, which means Sarah said, “I am waxed old,” and God was truthful when quoting her as saying, “Shall I in truth bear a child, old as I am?” (Gen 18:13).

Yes, God did not tell Abraham that Sarah also said “am I to have enjoyment-with my husband so old?” (Genesis 18;12 b). Just because God didn’t tell Abraham everything that Sarah said doesn’t mean that He lied and, it’s all in how the verse is read and by who is reading it. When I read it, I see no controversy at all. The bible does not explicitly state that God lied to Abraham. However, some interpretations of the story of Abraham and Isaac suggest that God may have misled Abraham. For example, God commands Abraham to sacrifice his son Isaac, but then provides a ram as a substitute at the last minute. This raises questions about God’s intentions and whether He truly intended for Abraham to kill his son. Different religious traditions and theological perspectives offer varying interpretations of this event. Some argue that God was testing Abraham’s faith, while others suggest that God never intended for Abraham to actually kill Isaac. Ultimately, the question of whether God lied to Abraham is a matter of interpretation and belief, and NO TEACHER who claims to have complete faith in The God of Adam should suggest to his/her students that God lied.
GOD DIDN’T GOSSIP WITH ABRAHAM or LIE TO HIM, THOSE ARE THINGS THAT HUMANS DO!

If in fact Sarah did not respect her husband, God spared Sarah’s reputation in the eyes of Abraham and God also did the same for Abraham towards Sarah! (Genesis 17:17). Any imbecile who would teach anyone that God lied should not be teaching even a dog how to sit! God is ABOVE HIS CREATION! He doesn’t reason, or think or behave the way that we do. A holy God can not lie, period! “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith God… Isaiah 55:8-9.
The tendency of humans is to deceive for the sake of peace, which contrasts with God’s nature; had God remained silent to Abraham, peace would have naturally prevailed between him and Sarah.
Proverbs 6:16-19 There are six things that God hates, seven that are an abomination to him: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked plans, feet that make haste to run to evil, a false witness who breathes out lies, and one who sows discord among brothers.
Proverbs 12:22 Lying lips are an abomination to the Lord,But those who deal faithfully are His delight.
Psalm 5:6 You destroy those who speak falsehood; The Lord abhors the man of bloodshed and deceit.
Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that He should lie
Who would agree to respect a lying G-d?

Even a Christian would never say that God lied about anything! When even a Rabbi makes such a bold statement about a perfect, divine God only a fool would continue to listen to that Rabbi. That Rabbi has certainly lost His eternal inheritance in the world to come. A God that would lie would be an unreliable God which no one would ever respect. No different than JC.

God said Himself that He can’t lie and that He hates liars (or was that a lie?). Any religious leader who would try to convince his/her followers that God lied is someone who has an agenda that is against God, the God of all creation. If God lied it would be the end of anything decent that is left in the world, it would be the end of all peace and love. It would literally be the end of the world. There would be a war in heaven if God lied.

I am neither a Christian or a Jew, I am at a place where I am trying to learn the truth about the true God, The God that I believe to be infallible. I will never believe that God lied or is capable of lying. Perhaps it is written in Numbers that God isn’t man that He should lie because God knew that some idiot would accuse Him of behaving like a man (gossiping with Abraham) and lying (the topic that this post is referring to). If God ever lied it would be the end of the Torah, the end of everything! It would mean that God isn’t reliable! It is very dangerous to teach that God would lie.

We are living in times of great confusion, whereby if you are not in tune with the God of Abraham you can and will be led astray! Any God fearing creature would never EVER say or imply that God lied! God does not represent lies of any fashion. Why do certain people connotate “white” with permissible? A white lie is still a lie, a misrepresentation, a SIN! Leave it to MAN to try to reduce God to be flawed like himself. God is so much higher than gossiping with Abraham about what his wife said! And furthermore, what type of human being would teach anyone that telling a “white lie” is a mitzva? To tell someone that a small lie is permissible is opening up a door to allow Satan to come in and convince someone to tell bigger and bigger lies which will ultimately lead to additional sins. God said DONT LIE, and He meant it! Who is a Rabbi to tell anyone to go against what God said not to do? And NO, I am not anti-Semitic, I am a Noachide telling the truth. listen to God and not man!
